The Johannesburg Bassonia residents have been having an outcry about blocked drainages in the suburbs. This ongoing issue negatively impacts the neighbourhood, which frequently causes flooding and waterlogging and endangers public health and municipal infrastructure.

Residents have been complaining to the city about the poor drainages which has resulted in residents taking the initiative to fix the drains on their own. 

The city's input has not been seen as there have been issues of blocked drains, it blames residents for poor handling of infrastructure that helps them, 

The city's outdated infrastructure, poor maintenance, and inadequate infrastructure intensify the drainage issue. Due to this, even mild rainfall frequently exceeds the capacity of the current drainage system, resulting in flooding in low-lying regions and a rise in the incidence of waterborne infections.

The technique used to address this issue is multifaceted. There has been a significant thorough planning and financial investment in drainage infrastructure improvement. This entails developing new drainage networks, enhancing the functionality of already existing drainage systems, and putting into practice environmentally friendly drainage practices.

Developing effective drainage plans that prioritise all people's interests of effective drainage plans that give interests of all people first priority requires cooperation between governmental organizations, urban planners, and engineers. UNISA STUDENTS URGED TO REGISTER IMMEDIATELY

UNISA has made registration easier for returning and new students by providing them with assistance and support during registration from designated staff members, through direct communication channels such as telephone and SMSs. Direct payment system spikes protests at UFS

Photo by: Sunday UFS students on a protest over the New Direct Payment system introduced by NSFAS. Amid protests, the University of Free State (UFS) has suspended contact classes to online, on 1st August as student protests are causing havoc on campus. The disruption of academic activities occurred in the institution's two campuses namely, Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa campuses. The university spokesperson Lacea Loader said, "The suspension of academic activities will continue until Friday the 04th of August."
